Steps to cook
-
Prepare the ingredients. Prepare all the ingredients - we'll be cooking with them in a moment 🥩✨
-
Cut the meat. Cut the beef into slightly smaller cubes, salt and pepper it. (if you already have the meat packaged in smaller cubes, you can skip this)
-
Cut the onion and garlic. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
-
Brown the meat. Heat lard or oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and brown it for about 5-7 minutes on all sides until golden. Then remove the meat and set aside.
-
Saute the onion. Add the onion and garlic to the same pot and saute over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes until golden.
-
Add the spices. Add the ground paprika, tomato paste, and caraway seeds and saute over medium heat for about 1 minute.
-
Cook the goulash. Return the meat to the pot, cover with water so it is almost submerged, and bring to a boil. Then cook over low heat for about 1.5-2 hours, until the meat is tender.
-
Season the goulash. Season the goulash as needed and cook over low heat for another 5 minutes or so.
-
Heat the dumpling. Slice the bread dumpling and heat it in steam over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes or according to the package instructions.
-
Serve. Serve the beef goulash with bread dumplings 🥩✨
