Steps to cook

Preparation of Ingredients. Prepare all ingredients – we will be cooking with them shortly ✨

Cooking Rice. Cook the rice in salted water according to package instructions, usually about 15–20 minutes on medium heat, until tender.

Slicing Onion and Garlic. Slice the onion into half-moons and garlic into thin slices.

Slicing Bell Pepper. Cut the bell pepper into thin strips.

Slicing Carrots. Cut the carrots into thin strips.

Slicing Chicken Meat. Cut the chicken breast into thin strips.

Searing Chicken Meat. In a heated pan with oil, sear the chicken meat on high heat for about 3–4 minutes until golden brown, then set aside.

Sautéing Vegetables. Add the onion, garlic, carrots, and bell pepper to the pan and sauté on high heat for about 3–4 minutes, until they begin to color.

Adding Meat and Soy Sauce. Return the meat to the pan, pour in the soy sauce, and stir. Bring to a boil.

Preparing Cornstarch. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water until smooth.

Thickening the Sauce. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the pan and cook on medium heat for about 1–2 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

Serving. Serve the chicken chow mein on a plate with cooked rice. Garnish and serve hot ✨
